In fact, I am writing an article now JUST ABOUT how this one jeweler selling very very high end jewelry is missing out on this opportunity. I’m going to raise my prices. I’ve long felt that my price points target the wrong audience. The people buying jewelry between $25 – $50 want super simple, minimalist, single stone or single charm pieces. Meanwhile, my pieces feature a well-designed cluster of charms and gemstones. My value added is that I provide a chakra “story” with most of my necklaces. The simple minimalist folks don’t want to read! So, I’m going to close my shop for awhile, which won’t matter at this point as I haven’t even had a sale in nearly two weeks, and re-tool. I was just considering raising my prices, but your post has tipped me to definitely raising my prices.
