Maybe you consider your gym or your trainer a “container” — a greenhouse of sorts — for your fitness. They are there for THAT purpose, you invest in it, and they’re THERE for you, driving you, providing resources, prompting you to CREATE your best body. .The more you visit the container, the better your body gets. The higher your confidence, the deeper your respect for your OWN work.

The same concept applies to business.

So let’s talk about cash creation. NOT money management, not branding advice, not encouragement or accountability but…. actual CASH creation. Do you have a container that SUPPORTS, APPLAUDS, ENCOURAGES, EQUIPS & even PROMPTS your ability to create cash on demand for your business?

Yesterday I had an amazing conversation with an incredible woman who wants to join Women Who WOW. She was referred to me — as most of our new members are– by a current member. NOT because I have some affiliate-backed launch going on (I don’t) but because (and I quote):

“I have seen the transformations she’s making in herself and in her business.”

THAT is the primary driver of referrals to Women Who WOW. A woman begins showing up differently. Backing herself. Owning her message. Going ALL in on her dreams. Oozing confidence. And — yes — making obvious gains in INCOME, IMPACT & INFLUENCE.

THIS sort of change is palpable, visible & undeniable. It’s transforming the WOMAN at the helm of the business…. it’s GROWING the woman, which — of course — grows the business.

But, this woman (the person referred to me) wasn’t ready to join right away. WHY? Because she’d made PREVIOUS investments in business programs and opportunities that did NOT create any cash. Ol’ hubby was not happy.

AND NOR SHOULD HE BE.

A lot of husbands are treated as obligatory investors in a “business” that is a business in name only. REALLY, it’s an extremely expensive hobby. And the programs people are buying into… well, in fairness, they ARE containers too.

They are containers for PREPARATION.
they are containers for your visible BRAND.
They are containers for confidence, perhaps.
They are containers for increasing your REACH, maybe.

Here is the hard truth. I can build an eye-catching brand, focus on buying traffic, get 1 million followers, be UBER prepared for my launch…. and STILL not make any money. I didn’t used to believe this was possible. UNTIL I started hearing from what i now refer to as my “secret clients.” Household and industry names. In ALL the magazines, on national TV every week…. STILL making about $400 a month.

The BETTER truth though… is that in reverse…. when you focus on CREATING CLIENTS & CASH, a funny thing happens. You get prepared, gain confidence, increase your reach and create an AMAZING brand. ALL of these things are NATURAL, NORMAL by-products of allowing your business to focus on its PRIMARY purpose: Creating a profit.

If you unashamedly focus on making sure your INCOME aligns with the VALUE you provide, woman….
all these other things happen naturally.

THE SIMPLEST, MOST EFFECTIVE BLUEPRINT FOR A 6-FIGURE + COACHING BUSINESS

If you are intent on continuing to make your coaching business hard and complicated, this is where you should stop reading. The most “painful” thing that you’ll get from this article is a twinge of regret… regret that you’ve been making it so complicated and so hard for so long. Other than that…. you have EVERYTHING to gain.

And not just you.
You got into coaching to help people, right?
To make a difference?
So, OTHERS have a lot to gain by YOU stepping into the role of a PROFESSIONAL coach.

But you can’t make a difference when all you’re doing is scratching the surface with “complimentary coaching sessions” and charging low fees — when you can get someone to pay you — to attract the LEAST committed of clients.

Enough introduction… although if you haven’t read the previous 5 sections in this special report, start here and work your way through. First, the “Ingredients” of a 6-figure+ coaching business…. and then, the actual blueprint.

These are the tools you need. Now, here’s how they all work together:

For the next few minutes, please forget your woes regarding technology. Please reject the pressure to be “fancy” with your brand. Please ignore the shouts of every guru telling you about webinars or funnels or whatever. If you choose to layer those in, fine.

But.
It.
Is.
Not.
Necessary.

Not for 6-figures.
Not for 7-figures.

💲SERVING HOURS

The first thing you need to do is offer what my first coach referred to as “serving hours.” This is DIFFERENT from the standard — and woefully ineffective — “complimentary coaching session” because it is NOT open to everyone all the time, and also, it DOES require the recipient of your serving hours to “contribute” in some way to their time with you.

All of this is explained in PAINFUL detail in this post… and it is one way you can IMMEDIATELY make more money in the next 6 weeks than you did in the past 6 months. Way more.

Two additional notes on serving hours:

REALLY serve them. Do NOT make this a thinly veiled sales session.
Follow up each session with an email that gives them options for how they may continue the work you guys began in the initial session. (But only if they ASK for this information. If they do not, you may consider asking “Would you like to talk about how we might continue the work we began today?”

💲STORY TELLING.

Whether you’re speaking on stage, speaking to a camera during your Facebook lives or letting your fingers do the talking in blog posts, you need to get good at telling stories. Why?

Because stories SELL,
Because stories reduce sales resistance,
Because stories IGNITE your potential client’s dreams again,
Because stories reach into the hearts of your market and LIGHT THEIR POTENTIAL on fire.

And because stories take you out of “sales man” mode and put you into “partner” mode. Stories make the “benefits and features” conversation (BOR-ING) come alive.

It doesn’t have to be full on case studies.
It can be a MENTION on a live stream.

In a recent video I was able to share just a HANDFUL of wins experienced by our Women Who WOW members. Here’s what I said,

“6 figure revenues…
7 figure revenues…
Media features, times like 100.
Speaking gigs, that PAY and are ideal;
Retreats and events, filled. (Profitably.)
Best selling book launches.
HUSBANDS being brought into the business.

But sometimes the biggest wins are the HOW we’re doing business…

more confidently,
with less anxiety,
and also, with less chaos.
Less overwhelm; and

what’s more…
while taking back FULL control of your schedule and life.”

The response even surprised me. The stories… in BULLET POINT FORM allowed people to see what was possible for THEM.

Stories. They can be YOUR own story of overcoming X… or they can be the stories of your clients. Ideally, you have both.

When you’re telling stories, as PART OF YOUR BRAND, as an EVERYDAY component of how you show up in the market place, do not forget to include emotion… not “just the facts,” Include the emotion.

For instance, I’ve ALWAYS told the story of investing $50 to start my business, which I took out of the whopping $213 I had in savings at the time. But when i started sharing the SHAME I felt being a college educated woman making payment arrangements with the power company and THEN still struggling to make these payment arrangements…. when I started revealing the struggle with anxiety I felt when the bills were piling up and I had NO IDEA what to do… when I started revealing how I HID my stress and anxiety from my husband because I couldn’t take on HIS fears on top of my own…

Well, that’s when the stories REALLY started working. Why? Because people can relate to them. They knew I “GOT” them.

So, what are YOUR stories? Write them down. Work them into your content. Refer to them over and over again. Go deeper into the emotion of them.

And, of course, tell client stories too…. with their permission. =) Moving on…

💲SELLING HABIT & 6 MAGICAL WORDS.

Look, you’re only going to make money when you sell coaching. And coaching sells through conversation. BUT…. it does not sell the way they tell you it sells when you’re getting certified.

You need to cultivate a “selling habit” for your coaching practice. I’m actually hosting a very small intensive in National Harbor, MD this year for coaches, and teaching them this exact blueprint but in a way that is nuanced and allows (demands) that they do it ALL their way. But, part of this event will include SELLING for COACHES.

Here’s an overview:

Do NOT allow people to “pick your brain.” Instead, allow them to share what’s bothering them and say these “magical words:” I CAN HELP YOU WITH THAT.
Follow it up like a professional. Your dentist doesn’t meet you at a party and pull out a light and start looking at your problem tooth, does she? NO! She asks you to make an appointment.

Why? Because dentists get paid.

To turn a conversation into a client, say this,

“I can help you with that. But, I want to give this the time and space it deserves. Let’s make an appointment. I’ll waive my initial consultation fee and we’ll see how far we get.”

You’ve assured them (honestly, right???) that you can help them.
You’ve positioned yourself as a professional.
And you’ve reminded them that you work for “FEES” or money.
You’re well on your way to getting a client.

But you MUST still sell. You must still follow up after the connection with a few ways that you can work with this person… at VARYING price points. You’ll want to encourage them to “choose the option that best fits with their budget and sense of urgency.”

What is YOUR sales habit? Can you define it? If not, message me and let’s remedy this. You need to be able to identify WHERE your leads will likely find you and how you will get them into conversation with you… as well as which options you’d like to begin selling at which price points.

Moving on…

💲CASH PRODUCING CONTENT.

Content isn’t JUST for being found on google. It’s also for being seen…. for standing out… for being IMMUNE to commoditization. (Ask me about the video training regarding WHY your market unconsciously WANTS to commoditize you and how you can combat it at every turn!) Content keeps you fresh in the minds of your market. It also differentiates you from any and all other options — if you’re doing it right.

Doing content RIGHT means going it authentically and daily.
Content gives your champions something to share other than your business card, not that I’ve ever used business cards.
Content allows you to be seen and respected as an expert.
Content allows you to serve your market and nurture your prospects with something OTHER than a “did you forget to pay me” message.
Content begins conversation. (P.S. this post is a great example of how content begins conversations and calls out your ideal prospects. I’m going to be showing exactly how these things work at the event in MD.)
Content separates your best prospects from the rest of the world so they are EASILY reached and found.

Content is STILL queen. Yes, the tactics are different. Yes, the tools can be overwhelming, but it’s the HEART of your content that matters. I’m the Lowest tech online marketer in the world. Plain and simple — because of content.

Quick note: DO NOT create content and wait for it to be found. Write about a particular niche of your market. Share it with that niche’s association or local chapter. Do a video about a certain problem and then share it with support groups dealing with that problem. Share your content as a service.

💲MULTIPLE INCOME STREAMS.

You’ll want multiple income streams to allow you to work with clients at different levels so that you can maintain the sort of LIFESTYLE you want. For me, I created a membership because 1) the waiting list for my private coaching services had a waiting list FOR the waiting list. and 2) I wanted to serve more people…. but I did NOT want to be working all the time. I needed leveraged income streams.

PACKAGING FOR PROFIT: A GUIDE FOR COACHES WHO ARE SICK OF BEING OVERLOOKED AND UNDERPAID

I don’t “only” work with coaches, but having been successful in two other business ventures before I ventured into coaching, I know INTIMATELY the challenges of effectively packaging what coaches “do.”

In order to make money consistently, coaches have to package the intangibles, including:

💲 access to themselves;

💲 their mental real estate;

💲 their own experience and desirability;

💲 a desired result; and

💲 support and accountability.

Unfortunately, most coaches simply package TIME. IF they are REALLY steeped in traditional coach training, they also try to package “the benefits of coaching.”

This shows up as packages that look like this:

PLATINUM PACKAGE

$XXXX per month,

4 – 45-minute coaching sessions,

unlimited email support.

If you are swallowing a big “gulp” of packaging shame right now, stay with me. You are SOOOO not alone. In fact, for many years, this is how coaches were taught to market, package and sell coaching.

And if you didn’t ACTUALLY have to make money, this would be fine. You could keep your current packaging, your complimentary coaching session offer on your site, and the obligatory “the power of coaching” page which reminds readers that the top in ANY industry hire coaches. =)

But, if you’re like me…

money wasn’t something that “would be great to make.”

Money kept my lights on and mortgage paid.

So, I had to make some. lol…

This meant that I HAD to do something different. After more than a decade of mentoring thousands of coaches, here, is an overview of what YOUR packaging must have in an effort to have people SIGNING up easily, effortlessly and enthusiastically:

💲 DESIRED RESULT.

Start with the client in mind. What do they really want? What RESULT do they really want? What are they SO committed to that they’ve decided to look into hiring a coach?

You want to LEAD with the desired result. Make it about THEM and what THEY are up to.

In pitching someone directly, you want to do this via email… beginning with RE-ITERATING and RE-AFFIRMING their goals. This will show that you GET them. 💲 WHY YOU?

I don’t want to bust any bubbles… but there are a LOT of coaches out there. Many (mistakingly) out there marketing FREE “coaching.” Many more (mistakingly) out there marketing cheap coaching. (Take a look at the MYTH of the CHEAP Coach here.)

So, you’ve got to REALLY define why they should choose to hire you as their coach over any and ALL other options they have at their disposal.

What makes you ideal?

And don’t even THINK that your certifications make you special. (Sorry!) Your clients don’t care about that. They care about one thing.

Are you the BEST

the RIGHT

coach to help them achieve their DESIRED result?

That’s it and that’s all.

So, what makes you the BEST person to help them? Here’s a small snippet of my own copy that answers this question:

“My company serves business owners and entrepreneurs from all over world — literally. We have mastermind members from coast to coast and thousands of subscribers from all industries referring to our content for guidance, encouragement and straight-forward strategies. We’ve done this PURELY with clever strategic moves, marketing muscle and a lot of hustle. There are NO magic pills. It wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. And YOUR business deserves to reach its full potential too. ”

What is YOUR statement?

What is your answer to “why YOU?”

(This is THE most important part of your packaging, which means your demeanor, energy, accessibility, EVERYTHING comes into play… it’s ALL part of the packaging.)

💲 WHY NOW?

In short, you want to be sure you’re calling out what is likely to happen if they DO NOT take (different) action. i’m not talking about whether or not they will miss out on your discounted rates. (I don’t recommend discounted rates.) I’m talking about what will LIKELY persist for them if they do not do something different?

Why Is NOW their time?

To start their business? Save their marriage? Rescue their health? Resuscitate their finances?

You want to lovingly,

and with ABSOLUTE integrity and honesty

let them know what is likely to PERSIST if they do not take action.

(Hint: The answer to this is what they are experiencing, tolerating, wanting to escape right now. )

💲 THE WHAT, HOW AND WHEN.

Now, you’ll notice that we’re FINALLY getting around to the “stuff” of a coaching package. The WHAT they “get.” The HOW they’ll connect with you. The HOW often.

Look, this stuff has to be mentioned, but it is NOT the point. So, feel FREE not to focus on it.

The WHAT is access and accountability. The WHAT is the desired result. The WHAT is all of the “stuff they want” summarized.

They get a partner.

They get a shortcut.

They get a champion, a guide, whatever.

The HOW is more the parameters of the relationship. DO NOT make this about time. Don’t even MENTION how much time you’ll spend with them on each call. (TRUST me on this. They do not want you to spend 90 minutes with them on the phone if they can have a breakthrough in 30.)

Coaching is NOT about the time it takes.

That is irrelevant.

Coaching isn’t about the time it takes,

but the DIFFERENCE it makes.

So sell / package the difference.

NOT the time.

(And also… people hire coaches to SAVE time, actually. So more isn’t necessarily an ATTRACTIVE feature.)

A Must Read for Coaches In Search of Clients

CAN YOU CALL YOURSELF A COACH….

LET ALONE A **GREAT** OR

**TRANSFORMATIONAL** COACH…

WHEN YOU HAVE **NO**

OR VERY FEW

PAYING CLIENTS?

Short answer: no.

Long answer: Definitely not.

Although a lot of coaching programs

(and ONE program in particular)

seem to confuse this in the minds of their coaches.

In training, FINE…

when you’re trying to learn HOW to coach,

during the CERTIFICATION process,

if you want to make appointments with pseudo-clients, and “trade” coaching hours,

fine. (I guess.)

But, it always amazes me how many “coaching appointments” non-monetized coaches (coaches making NO money) seem to have. They’re “coaching” non-stop.

Anyone they talk to on the phone is a “client.”

“I’ve got three clients tomorrow.”

REALLY? THAT’S GREAT. 3 CLIENTS IS A GREAT START. WHAT ARE YOU CHARGING?

“Oh, well… we were all trained together so we all still coach each other on the phone.”

WHAT???

If this thinking didn’t hold coaches back for SO LONG,

I wouldn’t begrudge them this little fantasy of having ACTUAL “clients.” I’d be content to let them live in the land of make believe.

But, it DOES hold them back.

And it holds them back with an iron-like grip.

And it holds them back for a LONG time.

Here’s why… and then we’ll get to the solution:

👉 Coaching people (friends OR acquaintances OR those who trained with you) for free takes up a LOT of time that you could be spending with actual prospects.

👉 Coaching people for free allows you to FEEL like a coach without actually making a living as a coach. It’s like a dopamine hit that will always leave you empty afterwards. #discouragement

👉 Coaching people for free allows you to conveniently AVOID the hardest “work” of coaching, which is getting people TO the fee…. getting them to invest in THEMSELVES, in the TRANSFORMATION they seek, and in YOU as a guide. This is the REAL work of growing a coaching practice. Because what comes after that is SOOOOO natural to you, right?

👉 Coaching people for free — especially in an ongoing situation — often leads you to RESENT that person. They didn’t pay you, they may not be “doing the work,” and also you WANT to get paid… feel you SHOULD be getting paid, and you know what? If you’re “trading” the coach hat — coaching her one day and BEING coached by her the next day — she’s probably feeling the same way.

👉 Coaching people for free confuses friendship and conversation with coaching and commerce… and the result is that you begin to DEVALUE your own coaching…. which leads to you doing MORE of it for FREE… resulting in a vicious cycle. HINT: People who PAY do the work and get better results than those who don’t. Period.

👉 Bottom-line: Coaching people for FREE keeps you busy and broke. 👉

So, actually, it’s a fantasy that has long lasting negative consequences.

😢 Husbands / Wives mad that their spouse spent X on some certification or training and they’re STiLL not making money.

😢 Coaches who walk away from their dream because they feel they just can’t make a living doing what they KNOW they were born to do.

😢 And the discouragement that digs DEEP into the bones of a NON-MONETIZED coach can’t be overlooked. But I understand it.

I’ve been that coach.

I tried being a life coach once upon a time.

And look, I was a HORRIBLE life coach. I get it.

And I didn’t do it long because I SUCKED at it so bad…

But I did it long enough to know the PAIN

of being someone with so much to offer,

someone with so much potential,

but someone who felt UTTERLY rejected by the market.

WHY would one coach make it…

and another not?

Why THEM and not me?

I used to think that I had to fancy my shit up.

That I should get my website fancier,

that I should decide what my POWER suit would be and (actually) wear it in public,

that I should be more PUT TOGETHER

as a woman,

as a mother,

as a coach…

that I should be more PROFESSIONAL,

more “grown up.”

And, if you know me well, please don’t laugh.

I actually tried

at various times

to be FANCIER, more professional,

to be THAT coach.

Only, it didn’t move the needle in my business.

IT DIDN’T WORK.

in fact, it was KIND of like those

pseudo-clients you might be “coaching.”

It took time and effort and kept me SPINNING my wheels in vain.

Now, I’ve got a TON of free resources for what DID move the needle in my business, and I’m putting together an exhaustive resource for you on exactly these steps, but here they are below…

Consider this the READERS DIGEST VERSION:

👠 I figured out what I was REALLY selling as a coach.

HINT #1: I was NOT selling time. So, if you’re currently “selling” time…. as in “four 45 minute coaching sessions for $XXX,” you’re selling it wrong.

HINT #2: I WAS selling ACCESS (to me) and A CERTAIN result.

👠 I figured out why MOST “free coaching sessions” do NOT lead to money in the bank. (Hint: When something is FREE for anyone, it is of VALUE to no one.) I also figured out HOW to make FREE coaching session be the BEST performer in my business. No business card, no book, no fancy calendar system AND no funnel. JUST the session AND one email. (Honest, this is how I broke the 6-figure mark, EVEN as a “marginal” coach.)

👠 I discovered the MAGIC of price, and exposed the MYTH of being the “cheap-er coach.” (Hint: Invested people hire coaches, and they do NOT trust cheap. “REASSURINGLY expensive” is a better way to price.)

👠 I began PACKAGING according to desired result, EVEN for 1:1 coaching. (I also began playing with various income streams. LEVERAGED income streams, you might say.)
