I have potential clients ask me all the time to “barter” our services with one another. My immediate response to them, as politely – yet firmly as I can, is…NO! It tells me a lot about how they view their services/goods and the lack of confidence they have in themselves. What’s funny, is that when I tell them no they seem relieved. Then we can get on with a business conversation and move forward – and yes, many of them end up doing business with me – paying for my services and I certainly reciprocate where applicable.
