I am often puzzled when being a confident woman is confused with being an aggressive woman. To some people, there is no difference. It's okay to ask for what you want. How would you get "what you want" by HOPING others will figure it out (read your mind)? Is knowing you are a capable of dealing with what curves life, love & business throw at you a negative thing? I am old enough to know this: everything that I have accomplished, or even tried and failed at makes me a confident woman!

The Proper Care and feeding of...can apply to just about anything and to anyone. The word "rules" can also be interpreted in differnt ways. As I read this, I know that I tend to react negatively to the word rule. Rules makes me feel like options have been taken away. But in reality, rules actually allow you more flexibility, freedom, and success because these "rules" have come about because others have had positive and negative experiences and are sharing with you what works and doesn't work. Yes, we are emotional beings and these "rules" helps us put things in a logical order so that we will be more successful. As a personal coach for college students, I hear how "rules are not fair", and this blog just helped me to keep in mind that my "job" is to encourage them to discover how these rules can help to take care of them, nourish them and put them in the right direction for a successful college experience. Thank you, Michelle!
