The feeling that STILL sneaks up on me isn’t doubt or fear.
It’s overwhelm.
Not from the work itself. I can handle that. I LOVE the work.
But from being the wife, the mother, the daughter, the aunt, the Namma, the friend that I want to be… that my heart LONGS to be.
Frankly, for so many years my business,
my drive in the entrepreneurial arena
has felt like a dirty little secret.
It has often felt at odds with… everything else.
It’s a part of me. A core part, but when there’s not enough of me to go around,
Not enough time.
Not enough energy.
When there is NOT enough,
my heart for my people and my regular life WINS.
It’s not just who I AM, but who I WANT to be.
And I’ve learned this isn’t just MY struggle — it’s our truth, as women.
This is why women don’t always earn like men.
Not because of some old stingy white man holding us back.
Not because of a sticky floor or a glass ceiling.
It’s because we’re the glue.
The glue, the heart
that holds families, businesses, communities together.
And this is NOT on “THEM”
it’s not some external expectation we can just shake off —
it’s our hearts.
It’s how we’re wired.
And in truth, while we DO demand success,
it HAS to be on OUR terms,
because we’re GONNA be who we need to be, who we WANT to be for our people.
That’s why I’m dogmatic about measurement.
It’s a core principle of my success, and something I’m adamant about within WOWx.
Because women can’t afford to waste time on what doesn’t work or what doesn’t work well.
We can’t afford to chase things that take too long to prove themselves.
Every move has to matter.
Every hour has to earn its keep.
Because the more diligent I am in my WORK,
the more FREE I am in my life.
the more INTENTIONAL and EFFECTUAL I am in my WORK, the more TIME I get to spend with my Mister, my babies, my grandbabies. (Thursday is Namma day, my FAVORITE day of the week. ALL day I get to spend with my all time favorite humans.)
I LOVE the freedom to have weekly Namma days.
But freedom demands discipline.
That’s why we measure, adjust, and manufacture success — not because we’re control freaks, but because we’re responsible for (and yearn for) so much more than our own business goals.
This isn’t about hustle.
It’s about stewardship.
We build our businesses to support the people we love — not to escape them.
And that means the only way to win is to make sure every effort counts.
So, step up to bat EVERY day.
Be intentional with your efforts.
And MEASURE…
“Is this accomplishing the goal i want it to accomplish? IF not, what can I replace it with?”
Because life is too short to beat your head against a wall.
(Woman: NOTHING compounds in business like visibility. Having NEW people find you EVERY SINGLE DAY is a whole different experience than showing up and DESPERATELY trying to hack some attention. Message me for YOUR Year of Visibility… via WOWx, The Visibility Gym for Women Entrepreneurs.)
