WHEN IT FEELS LIKE NO ONE WANTS WHAT YOU’RE SELLING.
I am extremely deliberate about all things. PARTICULARLY with my business. But even with all of my strategy, there have been times when I felt so sickeningly desperate for a client to say YES that I could nearly gag on my desperation.
Once I even applied to work at a Texas Road House restaurant, just a few months after delivering my son… and feeling frumpy instead of cute (which always helps when you’re waiting tables.)
Anyway, when it feels like no one SEES you
and if they DO, they IGNORE you
when it feels like the algorithm is against you
and even your own people are PUBLICLY working with someone else….
when your posts seem to fall on deaf ears,
your offers don’t make a cent…
or worse, they make a LITTLE and now you’ve got to dELIVER to a nearly empty room…
when the leads — and even any interest in you — seems to dry up like the Sahara desert,
👉👉NOTHING quiets this desperation like a new lead. 👈👈
I remember (like it was yesterday) driving home from Texas Road House after that interview and getting a call from my Mom about someone who had reached out to her about me doing some work for them. Keep in mind, this was an $800 ONE TIME “job,” but it was enough to quiet MY desperation and allow me to turn down that job waiting tables.
So imagine….
not ONE lead, but dozens.
QUALIFIED leads
that are REAChING OUT TO YOU…
and not just ONE time,
but on REPEAT.
And imagine these leads came to you HOPING you would choose them, recognizing you as an authority…
and what if aFTER they reached out to you,
they scheduled time with you,
you had BUILT in follow up
that FURTHER built your reputation and standing in your industry.

this is a strategy that I have used so many times
and it feels like SUCH a cheat code… that I would RARELY talk about it and NEVER in detail.
Quick example: back in 2017 or so, I was trying to sell a digital program called “Profitably Speaking.” This was back in the days when the speaking model was JUST switching over from speakers BEING paid to speak to events asking speakers to PAY to speak. lol… It was an interesting time. So, I created this program, but the truth was, my list was relatively small and I KNEW there weren’t a ton of speakers on my list.
ENTER: The Pitch me Press. 😊
I used a tool (which will be named in the Live January code workshop) to get SPEAKERS FRUSTRATED WITH BEING ASKED TO PAY TO SPEAK to contact me with their frustration. Again, I asked the right question of the right market (a skill i’m teaching in Pitch Me Press) but they wrote in to me to BE HEARD about how FRUSTRATED they were.
I understood them.
And I published an article about this hideous change in the speaking world. 😊
and then I gave them the “readers digest version” of my Profitably Speaking program,
as a GIFT for being part of my article.
About 60% of them bought it. And many are still with me to this day.
THEY pitched ME.
This is a brilliant strategy even if I do say so myself,

**As an aside, I LOVED waiting tables when i was in college. I wouldn’t have HATED it if I HAD to go back to it as a young mom, but working nights while my Mister was home… … it felt like I was going backwards in some ways. EITHER WAY it is still a solid Plan B. lol…
