I have long taught that if I wouldn’t do X to get a man, I wouldn’t do X to get a client. This OBVIOUSLY includes:
chasing….
constantly following up, “Have you decided if you like me yet?”
lowering my standards (including my rate!) to fit their expectations…
this list can go on and on, but it ALSO includes….
BEGGING and BARTERING when someone wants to leave you.
If you have a monthly recurring program and someone wants to leave….For the LOVE of Self-Respect, let them leave. In fact, make it EASY for them to self-cancel. PLEASE don’t make it hard for them to cancel, require a phone call and THEN offer them a discounted rate to stay.
This is SOOOO dishonoring to those who are cheerfully paying your monthly rate. (Yuck.)
Why should someone 1/2 in and 1/2 out stay and pay LESS than those who love and appreciate working with you? That is disrespectful to your BEST clients / members and childizes your worst.
Rule of thumb:
Don’t beg ’em to pay.
Don’t beg ’em to stay.
Who’s with me on this? It is 100% opposite of what most people teach, PARTICULARLY in the continuity income space.
** Full disclosure: I will on occasion, beg my people to DO THE WORK. lol… MANY Women Who WOW members have seen me in my begging pants from time to time.
IF YOU WOULDN’T DO IT TO “GET” A MAN, DON’T DO IT TO GET A CLIENT: THE “I WANT TO CANCEL” EDITION
